Kamilla creates a study plan for each individual student based on their goals and preferences however she does recommend for beginner students to start with basic skills such as rhythm study, sight-reading, theory and the development of proper technique and strong fingers.
Method Books & Repertoire
For beginners, Kamilla uses Artobolevskaya Method, School of Piano Playing by Nikolaev, Piano Adventures series and Music Theory books by Ying Ying Ng.
Hanon Book, scales and finger drills are use to develop finger strength and control
For intermediate and advanced students, we focus on classical composers from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and the 20th-century eras (Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, Bartok and more).
Kamilla's goal is nurture student's appreciation and love for music along with developing discipline, dedication, resilience and focus.
Lessons are available for children (6+) and adults from a beginner to advanced levels. Studio charges a flat fee month to month. No long term contracts.
Tuition rates are as follows:
$200/month — weekly 30-minute lesson
$295/month — weekly 45-minute lesson
$385/month — weekly 60-minute lesson
Please read our Studio Policy for more information.
Tuition is a flat monthly rate, due on the 1st of each month, and includes weekly lessons, lesson planning, recital preparation, and Certificate of Merit support.
Monthly tuition is the same every month. The studio observes Beverly Hills school-district holidays and breaks; tuition is unchanged in months containing breaks, which is balanced by five-lesson months across the year. Tuition is non-refundable.
Each student's weekly time is reserved exclusively for them, so missed lessons are not refunded or deducted. With at least 24 hours' notice, one make-up lesson per month is offered, scheduled at a mutually available time. Make-up lessons do not carry over to the following month and are not offered for missed or same-day-canceled lessons, with the exception of sudden illness. Please keep sick students home. Same-day illness cancellations qualify for a make-up or an online lesson. Lessons canceled by the teacher are always rescheduled or credited.
Summer lessons (mid-June through mid-August) are offered on a flexible, pay-per-lesson basis: $60 / $80 / $100 for 30 / 45 / 60 minutes, scheduled around family travel. Summer students receive priority scheduling for fall. Regular monthly tuition resumes in September.
Written notice of withdrawal is due by the 15th of the month; enrollment and tuition end at the close of that month.
The studio presents a holiday recital in December and a spring recital in May. Students who wish to participate in MTAC's Certificate of Merit program are prepared for annual evaluations in performance, technique, theory, sight-reading, and ear training.
For students pursuing Certificate of Merit evaluations, competitions, festivals, or auditions, two lessons per week are strongly recommended during the preparation period. Twice-weekly instruction allows dedicated time for repertoire alongside technique, theory, and sight-reading, and keeps progress steady when it matters most. Twice-weekly enrollment is available at double the monthly tuition rate, either year-round or for the months leading up to an event, subject to schedule availability.
New students begin with an introductory lesson, a chance to meet, get to know each other and talk through goals. The trial lesson fee of $50 is fully credited toward the first month's tuition upon enrollment.
Students should have access to a piano or full-size (88-key) weighted keyboard at home. The complete studio policy is provided at registration.
For Parents: Setting the Stage at Home
A focused environment makes all the difference. Please provide a quiet, screen-free space and a consistent time for daily practice. Young beginners usually need a parent nearby during practice, and older students may need a daily reminder until practicing becomes a habit of their own. Your steady support is one of the strongest predictors of your child's progress.
For Students: Practice Well, Not Just Often
Consistent, thoughtful daily practice is the most reliable path to progress. Just as important is the attitude you bring to the bench: patience, curiosity, and pride in each small step forward.
Set Achievable Goals
Practice is most effective when it points toward a goal, whether memorizing a favorite piece, polishing repertoire for a recital, or preparing for a Certificate of Merit evaluation. Reachable goals turn daily practice into a challenge worth taking on.
"We consider ourselves very lucky to have discovered Kamilla five years ago. She has made a tremendous difference for my son in his piano playing, and she was so fun to work with that my daughter (who had already rejected three different music teachers) asked if she could take lessons with her also. She is patient and supportive, but also great at redirecting to make sure kids stay on task and focus on the lesson. We've recommended her to friends also, and everyone we know who has worked with her has been very pleased. Both of our children have improved significantly, and they look forward to their lessons each week.
One thing that we have found particularly valuable about Kamilla's teaching is the introduction of regular music theory instruction along with practical musicality. For my kids, who both love the idea of composing their own music, that has been particularly useful. She also affords them a fair amount of choice in the music they would like to play so it keeps them motivated to practice, and she schedules regular performances to give them something to work toward. I am happy to highly recommend her to anyone looking for piano lessons."

"Kamilla is an excellent piano teacher, and I can wholeheartedly recommend her. I started with Kamilla as a complete beginner, and unfortunately, I had previously had bad experiences with other piano teachers. I was demotivated and on the verge of giving up playing the piano.
Kamilla, with her calm and understanding approach, managed to turn things around, and I couldn't have asked for anyone better for my first six months of piano lessons. She not only has a profound understanding of music and notes but also knows how to effectively implement that knowledge. Through her guidance, I not only learned the fundamentals of playing the piano but also gained a much deeper understanding of music.
Furthermore, Kamilla pays great attention to detail and ensures that you play the kind of music that brings you joy."

"Kamilla is a wonderfully patient, thoroughly knowledgeable and completely accommodating pianist, whose lessons have done so much to pique my young (8 year old) daughter’s interest in the piano and introductory theory. Kamilla’s been great at helping us keep track of progress and provides the gentle push needed to help my daughter’s interest grow. My daughter is now excited to play our piano at home and loves the progressive challenges that Kamilla weekly provides through her lessons, homework assignments and activities. Would very highly recommend Kamilla."

"I’m so grateful to have found Kamilla through Thumbtack. I have nothing but positives to share about my piano lessons. Scheduling is easy and very flexible. She cares about her students progress while also letting you go at your own pace and finding the best way to learn. She’s professional and always makes the lessons enjoyable. I can’t recommend her highly enough."

"As a guitarist, I have always been enamored with classical piano. I have a music degree from Berklee College of Music, but I always felt that piano was out of my reach. However, I finally decided to take the plunge and enlisted Kamilla’s help as a private instructor. She has been indispensable in helping me to achieve my goals and understand how to approach the instrument. Each lesson I feel like I come away with a completely new understanding. I have spent time around a lot of very high caliber musicians and teachers, and Kamilla is right up at the top of that list in both categories. She is patient and understanding, as well as very insightful and knowledgeable. If you want to learn piano you will not regret taking lessons from her. She is truly a professional and I guarantee that she will be able to help you take your playing as far as you would like."
